Chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, rice crispy treats.
That’s just a few of the cookies and other goodies the folks at Illinois PIRG brought to Daley Center Tuesday morning for their billion dollar bake sale according to Progress Illinois website.
A billion dollars?
That’s the revenue Illinois PIRG estimates the City of Chicago lost over the course of 75 years in the mythic parking meter lease deal.
And, with a Midway Airport privatization deal back on the table, and talk of water privatization being thrown around, Illinois PIRG doesn’t think something like this should happen again.
In fact, they are pushing for more transparency in these processes and were asking people passing by their table of sweets to call Mayor Daley’s office and share your thoughts about these issues with him.
Hopefully the group will give the Geek a heads up on their next bake sale.
He’s a sucker for a good chocolate chip cookie.

The Funny thing……
If you get rid of Daley……you get rid of the Addiction to Privatization to cronies companies.
A parking ticket left on my vehicle’s front windshield states the time it was issued as 08:47pm. This is internally inconsistent, as “08:47″ indicates morning, yet “pm” denotes evening.
The City can’t have it both ways.
If morning was intended, then “08:47″ or 8:47am are appropriate. If evening was intended, then “20:47″ or “8:47pm” are appropriate. But mixing military time with civilain time leads to inconsist
Dan-
I don’t see the issue here. You received a ticket at 8:47 pm.
Fight it or pay it.
I don’t see any inconsistency and if you try to contest it on this basis you will most likely lose.
Dan….my digital watch is set to a 12 hour cycle and shows the current time as 09:23pm
When I flip to the 24 hour cycle, its 2123 hours.
If there is a “PM” its a 12 hour cycle time.
You want to nitpick…check the Address and N/S or E/W compass and street name. Check your plate type and accuracy of numbers/letters for the plate ID. See if Photos were taken.
