NYC Mistakenly Tows Corpse To Tow Pound

You know you’re already having a bad day when you’reĀ  dead.

But, last week, a corpse in New York received one final insult when it was given a free ride to a NYC tow pound.

Said corpse was minding its own business in the back of a funeral home minivan parked in a loadingĀ  zone for hearses and other funeral vehicles, in front of Redden’s Funeral Home waiting to be taken to the airport for its final destination in Miami according to the New York Daily News.

But, for some reason, the New York cops didn’t see the placard identifying the vehicle was there on business or the corpse in the back. The minivan was ticketed and towed.

The funeral director was able to get right down to the pound and the vehicle was released without having to pay the $185 tow fee.

Ultimately, the corpse made the plane on time.

Unfortunately, the funeral director still has a $115 ticket to fight.

Leaving a minivan in a no parking anytime zone for about three hours with a homemade sign that is misspelled gets ticketed and towed? I hate parking tickets as much as anyone but come on. New York should have something a little more official looking to avoid future problems. I’m surprised it hasn’t happened more often.

  2. Nice. You have a couple of great points The problem with law is that it doesn’t always work for you. It is a failed system and needs to be revised.
