Hinsdale Offers Parking Ticket Amnesty

Owed nearly a quarter million bucks in past due tickets, Hinsdale is offering a six-week amnesty on unpaid parking tickets according to Clarendon Hills Suburban Life newspaper.

From January 15th to February 28th, west suburban Hinsdale will give anyone with an unpaid ticket prior to December 15, 2009 a 50% discount on all outstanding parking tickets.

According to the report, at least one scofflaw owes in excess of $6000.

And, if the amnesty is not enough of an incentive for scofflaws to pay up, the village council has passed an ordinance which will suspend the driver’s license of any vehicle owner with more than 10 outstanding parking tickets.
