UPDATE: If you missed Saturday’s ChicagoNow radio, here’s the podcast of the Geek’s appearance.
Thanks to Kristen, Ben and Bill for the VERY enjoyable time.
The Geek’s work is never done.
Or perhaps, more appropriately, no rest for the wicked.
In either case, your friendly neighborhood Parking Ticket Geek will be out and about all weekend.
First stop is Saturday morning at 9:00 AM when the Geek brings his idiocy to WGN Radio 720 for this week’s installment of ChicagoNow Radio with the hilarious Bill Leff.
We’ll be talking about the winter parking ban, snow routes, frozen parking meters and all sorts of moronic stuff that makes normal people’s eye’s glaze over. Luckily for listeners, the always witty Leff will not allow the Geek to bore you to death.
Then, Saturday night, the Geek, against his better instincts, is going to pop in and make a surprise appearance at the Department of Revenue’s Holiday Party. This year it’s at a trendy downtown hot spot.
A clever revenue employee helped me get me an invite, so I thought it might be interesting to stop in and wish everyone Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. It might be nice to share a beverage with all the PEAs who always somehow find my car to ticket and the booters who’ve tracked me down a couple of times over the years.
Maybe I’ll even get a chance to rub elbows with DOR brass who, I’m told, are fans of this website.
Finally, Sunday morning, the Geek is scheduled to appear on NBC 5’s new Sunday morning news show, The Talk.
I’m supposed to discuss the recent “frozen meters” debacle with the lovely Marion Brooks.
The Talk airs at 7:30 AM on NBC 5 this Sunday.
If you’re sleeping off a late night of debauchery and/or the consumption of adult beverages, set your TIVO or your DVR/VCR.
As always, please don’t hold me responsible for any damage to your television set when my goon-like visage hits your TV screen.

ROFL….makes me wish I’d have gotten a ticket to the DOR party instead of the union party for tonight.
I’d love to see the look on peoples faces when you walk in the door.
DoR,
Don’t worry. I am bringing my camera with. I should get some really good photos. Have fun at the Union party.
If you catch Bea Hicky or Persons in a compromising situation….post the picks here.
Hey PTG & DoR,
Revenue’s leaders are looking extremely sharp, but also paranoid. Everyone who is walking (especially the peas) in is getting the look over. May not be able to get the photo’s.
Sorry,
I FAILED to get the photos. They were watching me and few others like a hawk.
Did Captian M Plate show up? I didn’t see him at the Union Party.
DoR,
Of course. Was working management shamelessly. I think I know who will be the next pea to be awarded pea of the year.
Not likely PEA of the year ever.
Think about the fallout from his exploits in May and what they cost the department in political headaches.
lol@ captain m plate
Optimus,
Gotta agree with you. Captain M Plate does have a nice ring to it.
Oh…I know the Peter Principle.
In slight defense of that kid….the screw up wasn’t intentional from what I hear…at least not on his part.
