Talk about using a sledgehammer to swat a fly. I could see banning trucks right near Wrigley, but why all of Lakeview?

This is embarrassing even for Rahm.

    ________

I’d be curious to see how they think they are going to pull this off.

You would need a PO on Every intersection to divert every single Truck, Pickup, Box Truck, etc from entering the grid.

And you are going to have the occasional jag off that doesn’t want to obey a re-route that is going to end up getting a trip to lock up….so at least 1 pair per intersection and a paper car.

  4. Jeff says:

    Drew

By my count there are roughly 17 intersections each on the east and west sides of the grid, and 13 intersections each on the north and south sides. That would mean you would need 120 cops to have 2 at each intersection and 60 cruisers to have a car at each intersection. Do that times 81 days a year and you blow a major hole in the CPD budget.

  5. Drew says:

    Jeff…

Or the Mayor could actually Let the CPD Hire that 1,000 cops he promised back for his first term.

  6. Jeff says:

    Drew

Those 1,000 cops will only get hired if they are writing tickets for trucks they find parked or driving within the Wrigley no-truck zone. Rahm is all about grabbing what he can.
