Tasered Over Tickets Lady Files Lawsuit
I wasn’t there.
And you weren’t there.
So neither of us know what really happened back on June 5th when Chicago Police officers used a stun gun to subdue an eight month pregnant Tiffany Rent.
But Thursday she’s filed a lawsuit against the City of Chicago according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
If you recall, Rent parked her car illegally in a handicapped parking spot. After being ticketed by a police officer, an enraged Rent tore up the ticket and allegedly threw it in the face of the cop. Then, after ignoring the commands of the police officers, Rent tried to evade the police by driving away.
At some point she was tasered, subdued and arrested.
One could argue she had it coming.
One could also argue police should never use a stun gun on a pregnant woman.
Perhaps fault needs to be divided equally between both parties.
In the end, it seems a court will decide who’s right.
Here’s the Sun-Times story, “Pregnant woman cries, announces suit over Taser incident with cops.”

I tend to side with the cops on the pregnancy part. She was sitting in her car, I’m not sure how the cop was supposed to know that she was pregnant and not just fat. Yeah, it might be more obvious when she’s standing up, but not sitting in a car.
As to the rest of the story, there’s probably a security camera that caught this.
She admitted everything the officer said she did….and she thinks she is going to win a lawsuit?
I still can’t find that part of the Illinois Compiled Statutes that allows pregnant people immunity from parking laws, arrest and resisting charges based solely on their temporary physical conditions.
The city will settle and she’ll continue living off the system.
If the ghettopotamous gets a settlement check, it will encourage every other shithead to try the same thing hoping they too can cash in on the ghetto lottery.
Comments like “she’ll continue living off the system” and “ghettopotamous” are the reasons certain people will never find justice. She knew better than to park there, but the last two comments shows that she isn’t the most ignorant. I would love to see if these bozos, Mike and Pete, would express their comments in public, instead of spill their bile under secrecy.
I must agree with Lance. There was absolutely NO excuse for the officers to use physical force over a parking ticket. Seeing how the top belligerent comments are coming from boys (calling them ‘men’ would be too much of a compliment), who have no idea how intense hormones range within pregnancy, one wouldn’t expect them to understand. Our constitutional rights and liberties are being stripped away and granted to big government and corporations – while the no-bodies like Mike and Pete cheer on “the system” to their very own demise.
