Do Only The Cool Cars Get To Park Illegally?

A Lamborghini lounges on the street in front of Gold Coast Auto Gallery

Sure, the sign says “15 Minute Standing Zone–Use Flashing Lights”.

But the sleek, beautiful and of course expensive, Bentley, Lamborghini, Rolls Royce and Ferrari got to park in front of the Gold Coast Auto Gallery at 834 N. Rush far beyond the 15 minutes dictated by the sign.

Of course, nary a one had their flashers on.

Yet no bright orange parking tickets graced the windshields of these gorgeous cars that were stopping people walking by in their tracks.

Huh?

I wonder how that works?

Betcha someone who parked their ’89 Impala there would have had a different experience.

Calling Capt. M-Plate! Time to crack open the ticket book out!

  1. Bob Opka says:

I work right across the street from this dealer. Those cars are all along Wabash rarely get ticketed. But so help them if they park on Pearson because THOSE are LAZ meters. I’ve often seen a tickets handed out on days when the dealer didn’t take the time/money to print out slips for all of them.

  2. Capt M-Plate says:

I hit the shit out of that damn place.

    And I’m mean about it.

No Rear Plate: 60.00 a ticket.
    No Front Plate : 60.00 a ticket.
No City Sticker : 200.00 ticket per car
Parked to Display for Sale: 100.00 Per Car

It’s been a few months since I was Down in the Gold Coast though.

Yes ………..I’m bitchy about that place.

  3. Capt M-Plate says:

You should of course discuss Gold Coast Loading Zone Abuse on your Next Radio Gig………Since they are not actually spending money to advertise to the 99%.

  4. chitownbootman says:

Seen a Bentley booted there once:-)

  5. Ticketmaster says:

I know that dealership well. Some of the best pictures on my wall of shame came from there. With the summer months coming, I may have to make a return tour around that area.

  6. DevoDog says:

You know there’s some under-the-table deals going on. Currently, they have 9 vehicles parked illegally (including 1 parking on the sidewalk). They have at least 5 vehicles parked illegally every weekday.
Just think how much good the $500k in fines could do.
(The police, alderman, mayor, and, I suspect, governor, know all about this. Just like how the police and mayor continue to allow the mob tactics of the Critical Mass rides every month.)

  7. Pete says:

The Bentley dealer tears up the tickets and throws them away because he knows not a damn thing will be done to force him to pay.
