Geek May, Or May Not Be On CBS 2 News At 10

UPDATE: Here’s the link to theĀ  finished story and video from Tuesday night’s CBS 2 News.

The story is essentially about a young man who, after recently moving to the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago, has been receiving an ungodly number of parking tickets. He claims he’s been getting the runaround from the city and Department of Revenue. The city says the young man is a serial scofflaw.

ORIGINAL POST: Just finished an interview with Mike Parker of CBS 2 Chicago for a piece that may or may not air on the 10 PM news.

The story is about a young man who’s just moved to the city, but has received a blizzard of parking tickets in his short tenure in the Windy City.

So far, CBS news editors have not decided if the story will air or not. So, tune in if you can, but don’t be mad if it doesn’t air.

Or, perhaps you will be thankful that the Geek’s aging and aesthetically challenged visage won’t crack your new plasma TV screen.

    Nice appearance Geek.

Shame that the musician didn’t get onto the payment plan before crying to the Media and it is a true shame he didn’t find your website first.

I know the people that live in Lakeview…

They feel they shouldn’t be required to follow the rules.

  2. Capt M-Plate says:

Shame on the PO’s and PEA’s for doing their Job Correctly.

  3. Pete says:

Did this guy not realize that you can go to the express DMV downtown and get the sticker instantly? Or the DMV on Elston? Each time I’ve gone te wait (especially at the express DMV) has been less than a few minutes for sticker renewals. In and out in less than 5 minutes each time!

Pete…what do you want to bet that the Musician either didn’t want to get his vehicle up to code to Pass the Emissions Test, was an Out of State Plate that was expired and was attempting to not have to re-register, or the tickets are for a different compliance violation…No Front Plate or Plate Cover/Tinted.

Because you will note that the Musician never once mentioned what the Violations were written for.

  5. Anonymous says:

Crap…I missed that point….50.00 per ticket because his plate sticker was late in arriving….my fault.

Ok….Lakeview….plenty of private lots and off street parking available for 80-130 a Month. Great way to protect your vehicle from Expired Plate Tickets.
