Man Killed In South Side Road Rage Incident
Sometimes while driving, our tempers get the better of us.
We honk, we curse, we gesture and yell out the window.
Sometimes it goes further. Sometimes things really get out of hand and end horribly.
Some people call it road rage. We call it stupid.
Last week a young man’s life ended tragically and abruptly after a verbal altercation between two drivers on a South Side street.
The Sun-Times reports 23 year old Mandeep Bedi was run over and killed by a car in an apparent road rage incident.
The article reports that Bedi’s wife, Elizabeth when trying to merge into traffic was verbally accosted by a female driver. Even though Bedi tried to drive away from the incident the other driver followed and eventually both cars pulled over. An argument ensued between the occupants of both cars, but the other driver got back in her car, put it into reverse and backed over Madeep Bedi who tried to protect his wife from being hit.
The driver left the scene of the crime but now, if apprehended, faces homicide charges.
Bedi died later at the hospital.
Bedi and his wife had been married just a year.
All three participants lives have been tragically altered. And over what? Because one or the other driver made a stupid mistake? Or one or the other driver was driving recklessly?
What?!?
So sad. So unnecessary.
Drive safe. Be kind and courteous to other drivers.
And the next time some driver acts like a moron, just smile, wave and drive away.

I have to say it…
South Side…It Figures.
Now if the fight were over a parking space after a snow storm being reserved by a lawn chair it would be an entirely different matter!
Yup…
In that case Bob………My comment would have been….

I view it as murder!
