Critical Mass Brings Bike Mayhem To Chicago Streets Friday Evening

It’s the last Friday of the month everyone.

If you’re not sure of the significance, you may be one of the few Chicago drivers never caught by the thousand or so bike riders participating in Critical Mass.

Critical Mass is a monthly parade of bikes that ties up motor vehicle traffic wherever it goes on its 10-15 mile trek.

The event steps off from Daley Center at 5:30, but no one knows the route until just minutes before the ride.

Steer clear if you can. If you get caught, turn off your engine, roll down the windows and try your best to enjoy the spectacle.

Happy Friday!

Great…..the Massholes are out again making all responsible Bike Riders look like Dorks.

  2. The Parking Ticket Geek says:

    DoR!

I didn’t even heed my own warnings tonight.

I was out on Milwaukee Ave, when the Mass came through. Shutdown the street for nearly 20 minutes. Lots of cops on the ride tonight too, from what I could see.

I have to give the Mass riders credit. They are certainly a friendly bunch.

  3. Its267 says:

A friendly bunch? You mean they crack jokes as they make people sit idle during their illegal activity. Is that what you mean?

They smile as they screw over the entire City?

I can’t wait for the first time I run across these idiots. My car wins against their bikes. We’ll see how “friendly” they are when the light turns green and I exercise my right to proceed.

I particularly enjoy the father of the year that had his infant strapped to the front of his bike as he wobbled down the street. Amazing.

I say during the Masshole rides that car drivers should be able to drive down the bike paths. I doubt they’d be nearly as tolerant of us “raising awareness” as we are of them.
