ChicagoGasPrices.com shows that the price for a gallon of regular unleaded has risen nearly 9 cents in the last 30 days at $4.08 per gallon, while AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report is showing a almost 12 cent increase in the last month with a current average of nearly $4.03 per gallon.
Both gas price reporting services report current gas prices are over a $1 a gallon more than a year ago.

These stories are no longer newsworthy. All we need to know is that Chicago has the nation’s highest gas prices (yes, even higher than Honolulu). The best way to save on gas is to fill up in neighboring states when possible, or at least outside of Crook County.
No…the better Idea is to buy a vehicle that doesn’t utilize gas.
Where might I find one of those? If you’re talking about the two-wheeled variety, I haul around too much equipment for work to be able to fit it on a bike. And the people on public transportation might not like it if I plunked it all down on the seat next to them. Not to mention, I can’t take an hour to get from one place to the other all the time.
pete, have you not heard of hybrid or electric vehicles? they use little or no gasoline. problem is they are expensive and electric cars have limited range.
