Bikers Gone Wild! Critical Mass Tonight
The once a month chaotic bike “parade”, Critical Mass hits the hot asphalt of Chicago’s streets tonight to screw up vehicular traffic wherever it goes.
Critical Mass starts at 5:30 PM with several thousand bikers from Daley Center and venturing into Chicago’s neighborhood for about 10 miles in length.
Routes are not announced until close to start time, but watch out or you’ll get caught at an intersection for a long time waiting for the bikers to pass.

Doesn’t this event qualify as a parade and as such must have a parade permit. If the route is in fact secret until the actual event and disrupts traffic especially during Friday rush hour it must be outlawed…
I think car drivers should have a monthly event where we drive down the lakefront bike path. I bet it wouldn’t be quite so tolerated as the critical massholes are.
I biked in the Critical Mass Ride on July29,2011. Never have I ever been so embarrassed to be a bike rider. I’ll never attend, participate, or support another Chicago Critical Mass Ride unless event procedures are changed. I apologize to all those I/we inconvenienced. I’m sure we upset a lot of people. Please don’t take it out on “law abiding”, disciplined riders, which I usually am. To the event organizers, please realize the damage your group is doing to bicyclist. Please also view the numerous postings and videos on the internet and determine for yourselves if you’d ever bike with 80% of the participants.
Oh…I do so love these Massholes.
Don’t yield to these selfish idiots. Your car will fair better than their bike, seems pretty straight-forward to me.
Do you have any idea how hard it is to wash dead hipster residue off of your car?
Pete!
You win “Best Comment of the Week.”
Unfortunately, there’s no prize. But you do get the satisfaction of making me nearly choke to death with laughter.
These Marxists have no understanding of history, economics and the direction of their cause and what effects that these ideas have on people. They boldly proclaim that society would be better off utilizing human powered transport…. but the reality is, if that were to happen people would have to pack themselves into a very small geographical area as it would be very exhausting and time consuming to get much done in a day if one had to ride for kilometers on end. Because people must be packed like sardines into a small area, disease and standard of living would fall, garbage would pile up in the streets. The city will look like the cities of the 1800′s; filthy and rubbish filled and disease infested. Furthermore, the infrastructure that enables them to ride around would have to be maintained and authorities would have to charge them a license fee to pay for the roads. The reason why we have cars is to improve our standard of living by spreading out and giving people room to live the life they want. These Marxists are so adhoc in their approach, because as soon as they seem to solve some alleged problem with the world, they invariably create another.
I can’t stand these people —- punks -Obama supporters. They suck.
