Film Shoot Gets Cars Towed Near Wicker Park

Read. The. Signs.

This is what happens when car owners don’t read and heed the signs–your vehicle is going to get towed.

These cars on Evergreen St. between Wicker Park (the actual park not the neighborhood) and Milwaukee Ave. were relocated courtesy of a friendly Streets & Sanitation tow truck driver.

Some sort of movie or video was being shot in the area and signs were posted on trees and light poles warning drivers to move their cars.

Luckily for the drivers, the vehicles were just relocated to a nearby open parking spot and not dragged down to a city auto pound which would have cost the drivers $160.

But, in this car choked part of the city it’s going to take a while for car owners to find where their cars were towed too.

The best bet if your car is towed is to call 311.

Here’s a tip: Read the friggin’ signs!!!

Thanks to Kevin N., our photographer friend in Wicker Park (the neighborhood, not the park).

    Geek…

If people Bothered to READ signs and follow what they said…OMG…I think I’d be living in a different state.

  2. Optimus Prime says:

The film being shot is a Buddy Cop film starring Richard Daley and John Stroger Jr.
Plot- After being stripped of their powers after being framed, the two go out on the streets and try to redeem themselves and find the culprit.

    Hi,

A friends car was towed in this area, but not to the city auto pound. Do you have the location of nearby the empty lot? Thanks.

    Claudia,

Your car is probably towed to a nearby street. Nearby is a very subjective term. In a regular neighborhood that means 1-2 blocks away. In Wicker Park, that could be MANY blocks away, due to the congestion in that area.

Try calling 311 and/or having a friend drive you around to hopefully stumble upon your vehicle.
