ALERT!: Gay Pride Parade Sunday
If you don’t want to get stuck in traffic Sunday, stay out of Lakeview.
Usually, it’s the Cubs that make driving and parking hellish in the Lakeview/Wrigleyville neighborhood. But if it’s the last Sunday in June, it is normally the Gay Pride Parade causing driving/parking problems.
The parade steps off at noon and proceeds on Halsted at Belmont north to Broadway, south on Broadway (where Halsted & Broadway meet just north of Addison, south of Irving Park) and then east on Diversey to Lincoln Park.
Halsted will be closed from Fullerton to Belmont for floats to line up. Street closures begin at 10 AM.
But make sure your car is off the parade route and other effected streets by 5 AM or face being towed and ticketed.
Hopefully, Boystown bar patrons won’t be too hammered after closing time to figure out they have to move their cars to avoid a tow.
Unless you’re planning to attend the parade, avoid Lakeview at all costs. If you’re going to the parade, take public transportation or park legally and walk.
Here’s details on all street closures, effected streets, etc.

Gay Pride doesn’t go west into lakepuke.
It stays entirely in Lincoln Park.
