Slip Sliding Away In Arkansas

You see, it doesn’t snow much in Little Rock, Arkansas.

A little bit of snow falls there and drivers don’t know how to handle it.

I guess that makes sense, since motorists in Arkansas have little experience with driving on snow or ice.

But snow battered veterans like ourselves prefer to all Southerners what they really are–winter wimps.

Enjoy all the fender benders.

  1. Geek, correction while there was snow, the real culprit was the very slick layers of ice. You can tell by watching the vehicle’s wheels. The ABS couldn’t deal with the slick ice because they could not get grip. If the tires had a chance of gripping, you would have noticed the tires display a studdering rotation as they try to get grip. Most tires have some snow grip capability, but useless on ice. Even chains would have a tough time. Only the outlawed studded tires would have a chance at a slow speed. Most of those drivers over-corrected their steering making the situation worse. It was reminiscent of a Curling match. Where were the Cops?

The one that did it right was the box truck. Don’t lock your wheels!

I tell you what, I wouldn’t be getting out of my car and standing there waiting to get hit by the next out of control car, that’s for sure.

I was going to comment about the ice also, but see that the doctor already beat me to it. There is also a substantial downhill grade approaching that intersection. Did you notice that the first car was sliding sideways?
