92nd Street Bridge Closes Tuesday For Repairs
The Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) released an advisory Monday warning drivers of the closing of the 92nd Street Bridge beginning Tuesday for maintenance and repairs.
The bridge, which spans the Calumet River is expected to be closed for work through the remainder of 2010.
Traffic will be detoured via Harbor Drive and 95th Street. CDOT suggests following the detour signs.
“The bridge repair entails repairing some of the mechanisms that move the bridge,” says CDOT spokesperson Brian Steele by e-mail. “River traffic will not be affected.”
