I would wait it out. I’m being told city sticker sales may start as early as next week. This is unconfirmed at this point, but you should be able to get a city sticker VERY soon–before the 6/4 deadline.

I would take the risk. VERY little enforcement of city stickers is being done right now anyways in anticipation of the new city stickers.

I just purchased a new car on 5/4/13, and transferred plates from the old car. Now I just need to buy a transfer for the city sticker. I understand there is a 30-day grace period giving me until 6/4/13. But living in Chicago teaches you that you can get a ticket for sneezing, I mean parking, on the street without a proper and properly displayed sticker.

So here’s my mini dilemma:
1. If I do get a ticket (invariably it’ll happen, given Murphy’s Law) it’s contestable, right? Well without having to go in person and all that jazz.
2. Can I wait until June (technically I should be able to given the 30-day grace period) to buy the new sticker? Or am I playing Russian roulette with CPD and the ever-present-when-you-least-expect-them ticket givers?

Yikes. The problem with that violation is you CAN be ticketed once a day.

You can try contesting the second ticket, but I think your SOL.

I just got back into town and found 2 tickets for an expired city sticker, issued 1 day apart.
How often can I be ticketed for the same offense? 5 in one day, 1 a day, once per infraction?

Will I need to pay both, or can I get a sticker today and contest the 2nd notice?

You definitely need to fight that ticket.

Just make a copy of your registration showing your car is registered in Aurora and proof you live there.

Should be a slam dunk.

Hey. I was given a ticket while attending my niece birthday party on the westside of Chicago todaY for not having a city sticker. But here’s the thing, I live in Aurora, Illinois and they do not have a city sticker. My car also registered in Aurora. Because I am a student here in Aurora I never changed the address on my drivers license. I’m not sure if that would have anything to do with the ticket our not but do I have grounds to contest the ticket?

First, I thank you and your husband for his service. Me and my family appreciate it very much.

Second, I don’t think you have a thing to worry about.

If the ticket was issued to a license plate in North Dakota, you should be off the hook as…you don’t have a car registered in North Dakota.

What I would do is wait to see if a Notice of Violation shows up in the mail. I don’t think it will. If it does, contest the ticket by mail, include a copy of your registration and tell them your car is registered in SOUTH Dakota not NORTH Dakota.

Again, I wouldn’t sweat it.
